Mystery Readers Journal is a quarterly thematic mystery Journal. Each issue contains articles, reviews, and author essays on a specific theme, as well as special columns and other mystery related material. Journals run an average of 80 pages. Subscribe.

Call for Articles, Reviews, & Author Essays: Mystery Readers Journal (42:1): Mysteries set at Fairs, Fetes, & Festivals.

The next issue of Mystery Readers Journal (42:1) will focus on Mysteries set at Fairs, Fetes, & Festivals.

We're looking for:

Author Essays: 500-1000 words about yourself, your books, and how your mystery (mysteries) reflect the "Mysteries set at Fairs, Fetes, and Festivals” theme. Think of it as chatting with friends and other writers in the cafe, bar, or on zoom. Be sure and add a title and 2-3 sentence bio.

Reviews: 50-100 words. Be sure and cite Title and author. Books do not have to be 'new'

Articles: 500-1000 words.

Deadline: February 15, 2026.
